1. What is MaLDoHD for Crysis 2?
A mod that includes graphic configurator, new textures, new materials and fixes for the singleplayer campaign maps.
2. What are the software requirements?

3. Do I need to install the Crytek HD textures update?
It is not necessary, but you can if you want. MaLDoHD includes, besides the textures created for the mod, some textures from Crytek HD update so you can play without that update if you want to slightly reduce the use of memory. If you think you have enough memory in your computer for both things at once, download Crytek HD textures update and activate them in the game menu. 5. What changed in MaLDoHD 4.0? - Include files from version 3.0 to become a single download. There is not an update therefore does not require downloading anything else. When installing the 4.0 version, the installer will create "Mods\MaLDoHDv4" folder so it's necessary to delete "Mods\MaLDoHDv3" folder manually if you don't want both versions. Both can exists simultaneously. - New version of the installer/configurator that does not require the use of external libraries. I have now used alternative techniques within the code. I hope those who could not use the previous version because problems registering libraries can use it now. - Added three new options in the configurator: "Penumbra Shadows" which allows at any graphics quality to force variable blur shadows on the distance between the object and shadow casting, "MultiGPU" option to solve flicker problems on computers with multiple graphics cards, "Not vanish corpses" to increase how many seconds the enemy corpses remain (original values are between 15 and 20 seconds) and "Reduced Textures" for use some reduced textures. "Reduced Textures" is not available yet because I need users post-launch feedback. - Fixed problem with folder name "library" that was causing some objects appear white (as some rubble). - Fixed issue that causes white wall coming out of the first building on "FDR" level. - Fixed issue with transparent doors at levels "Hive" and "Roosevelt" - Fixed transparent wall fragment at the "Roosevelt" level. - Fixed problem with white fallen leaves at the end of "Convoy". Those alternate leaves are now used in other maps. It is UltraHD version of the original fallen leaves. - Fixed issue with transparent nanosuit trophies in "Prism" level. - Added a lot of new textures and materials. - Added new versions of all maps and a lot of new fixes. - Added new materials for Reduced Tesselation mode that turns off tesselation in some surfaces. - Added new alternative Time of Day for singleplayer campaign.

6. How do I install the mod? After downloading the file, unrar to a temporary folder and run "MaLDoHD_C2_Setup.exe." Follow the onscreen instructions.
7. How to use the configurator? Use the shortcut on the desktop that has created by the installer. If you want to use the options graphics in the menus of the game, you have to let checked the "Use ingame settings" checkbox. If it's unchecked to create a customized configuration from the Configurator mod, DO NOT USE THE GRAPHICS OPTIONS IN THE GAME MENU. Do not use it and do not look at it, because they do not represent real quality the game is using. Although it's really hard for many people to resist putting all the graphics options to maximum, you could try play with the recommended settings. If you have a extreme highend rig, instead of putting the game on Ultra, put the recommended setting and then rise a bit something like the "Lod Ratio" to 15 or 16, the "View Distance" to 7 or 8 and enable "Real Time Reflections" or "SSDO". My advice is to always start with the recommended settings and never activate graphics options if you don't miss it when it's disabled. All effects are showed dramatically better if the game can maintain 60 frames per second.
8. I have playing in DX11 and I have framerate drops to 30 fps or the framerate locks 24 or 50 fps. I recommend you use DXOverrider program to force vsync + TripleBuffer and disable vsync in the game menu. This and other tips are listed in the help messages into mod configurator, so it's interesting that you read them.
9. I played around with MaLDoHD 4.0 and I've seen that some areas have lost the tessellation. That's right. More than 1000 materials have been modified in this mod. In some objects, tessellation has been added, others have parallax mapping enabled now, tesselation have been replaced by parallax in others and a few of them have lost every effect. Why disable tesselation in those few items? The reasons can be two: the look with tessellation is not credible, or tessellation shows errors in polygons joints (or both at once).
10. I've been playing around with the mod or watching on youtube videos and it's hard to find differences from the game without mods. It is very possible. Although there are more than 1000 textures modified, this mod is not intended to feel the game as different. On the contrary, the aim is to note that the game is very similar but with more detail in the textures. And it was not easy to change many textures but the game kept the same, was a challenge. For those who have trouble seeing the differences, I have prepared a "guided tour" through the changes in some areas. It is also useful for people who want to see what the mod do without playing it. BlackFire created a modification of the TOD (Time of Day) for all levels that is fantastic and I intend to include it as an option into MaLDoHD. So I communicated and BlackFire behaved so wonderful sending me their TOD values so I could put them in my mod. For lack of time, was left out of version 3.0. Before finishing the mod version 4.0, BlackFire enter his TOD into my mod, so that not only made it unnecessary for me to devote more time, but confirmed that he could do this with my version 4.0 too. On the other hand, before he got the integration, I had already started working with his TOD to include in version 4.0 and this is my first contact with TODs. When I integrated at levels I realized that many values are somewhat exaggerated for my taste and appearance and emotional impact on many levels is lost completely. In some places the change was very interesting but at the expense of the rest of level lost visual variety. For both reasons, I found it more challenging to create my own modification of TOD. In this way I have fun doing it and learn how to do it and you have more options. You can play with original TOD, or the BlackFire one or mine.
12. What happened with the integration of ShonE QMOD? ShonE creates new versions and he continues to improve it every day. We talked about integration and now he is able to add his mod into MaLDoHD keeping my changes in levels. zctang305:原来的直接从MOD文件夹里删掉就行了,所谓安装本来就是复制过去的。重新解压执行安装,找到crysis2的文件夹就行了。
